Expansion Bolt Usage

Dec. 14, 2019 | 10:37:30

Expansion bolts are a type of fastener consisting of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external threads) .They need to cooperate with a nut to fasten two parts with through holes. This type of connection is called bolt connection, if the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a detachable connection. Next, Expansion Bolt Supplier will introduce the related issues such as the use of expansion bolts, fixing principles, installation steps, and precautions for use.

Expansion bolt usage

1.When using, you must first drill a hole of the corresponding size on the fixed body with an impact drill (hammer), and then insert the bolt and expansion tube into the hole. Tighten the nut to make the bolt, expansion tube, mounting parts and fixing Tighten between the bodies to become one;

2.It will expand after tightening.There is a large head at the end of the bolt, and a round tube slightly larger than the diameter of the bolt is placed on the outside of the bolt. There are several openings at the tail.

3. After the bolts are tightened, the tail of the big head is taken into the open pipe, and the pipe is enlarged to achieve the purpose of expansion, and then the bolt is fixed to the ground or wall to achieve the purpose of rooting.

Expansion Bolt's fixed principle

The expansion bolt is fixed by using a 斜 -shaped slope to promote expansion to produce frictional grip and force to achieve the fixing effect. One end of the screw is threaded, the other end has a vertebra, and the outer bread is an iron sheet. There are several cuts in the half of the iron cylinder. Enter the hole made in the wall, then lock the nut, pull the screw outwards with the nut, and pull the cone into the iron cylinder. Tents, air conditioners, etc. are fastened on cement, brick and other materials. However, its fixing is not very reliable. If there is a large vibration in the load, it may loosen, so it is not recommended to install ceiling fans.

Installation steps for expansion bolts

1.Choose an alloy drill bit that matches the outer diameter of the inner expansion bolt, and then drill the hole with reference to the length of the inner expansion bolt.

2.Install the flat washer, spring washer and nut, turn the nut to the bolt and the end to protect the thread, and then insert the inner expansion bolt into the hole;

3. Turn the wrench until the washer and the surface of the fixture are flush. If there is no special requirement, generally tighten it by hand and then use the wrench for three to five turns.

Notes on the use of expansion bolts

1.Drilling depth: In the specific construction, the depth is preferably about 5 mm deeper than the length of the expansion pipe. As long as it is greater than or equal to the length of the expansion pipe, the length of the internal expansion bolt left in the ground is equal to or less than the length of the expansion pipe ;

2.The requirement of the internal expansion bolt for the ground is of course the harder the better. It also depends on the force of the objects you need to fix. The strength of the force installed in the concrete (C13-15) is five times that of the brick. Times;

3.After an internal expansion bolt is correctly installed in the concrete, its optimal maximum static force is 120/170/320/510 kg.The installation method of the internal expansion bolt is not very difficult. : First select an alloy drill with the same diameter as the expansion screw tightening ring (tube), install it on an electric drill, and then drill the wall. The depth of the hole is preferably the same as the length of the bolt, and then the expansion screw kit is lowered into the hole together. Keep in mind: Do not unscrew the nut, to prevent the bolt from falling into the hole when the hole is deeper, and it is not easy to take it out, then tighten the nut to 2-3 buckles and feel that the inner expansion bolt is tight and not loosened under the snail.

The above is the knowledge about expansion bolts introduced by Fastener Bolt Exporter.
